Boys & Sunshine

So what's a girl to do when she comes home from work and sees her adorable hubster and adorable baby boy walking outside when the sun is setting, and then she remembers that her friend is having a sunshine photo contest?  The girl runs inside and grabs her camera and hopes for the best!  Didn't even take the time to change my lens.  But I'm glad that Sara inspired me to grab the camera, because a couple of the ones I snapped are keepers!

Could he be any more ridiculous and cute at the same time?  Black & blue pajama top, black & white diaper, no pants, with brown sandals.  I don't even know what's going on.  But somehow, he is still adorable.  For this pic, I was using my EFS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens at 55mm, 1/250, f/5.6, ISO200.  We had our sprinkler going, as did our neighbor, so the newer sidewalk in the distance was damp and shiny, which I loved.

And a few extra bonus shots of my boys.  :)

Water photo!

So, I'm super behind, thanks to some bar exam craptacularness, but I wanted to make an entry for Running From the Law's July Photo Challenge!!!  So excited.  :)  I took this one of J and the hubster running through a sprinkler, and I really love how it turned out.  It's such a pure moment, both of them laughing while they try not to get a direct face-shot of water.  Love these two men (boys)!!

The settings I used were f/2.8, 1/3200, and ISO200.  The lens was my go-to lens, 50mm 1.8.

Yay for summer, and water, and photo contests!!!

14 months old, hanging out at the Garden

Jonathan and I made yet another visit recently to one of our favorite places, and I got some cute pics of him. I'll recommend again that if you haven't visited the Missouri Botanical Garden lately, it's well worth a trip.  Especially the Japanese Garden.  :)

Not sure how my sweet baby got to be 14 months old already, but I'm enjoying every minute!

Japanese Garden Bliss

Is there any place in St. Louis that is more beautiful in early April than the Japanese Garden area of the Missouri Botanical Garden?  Absolutely not.

I am a bit biased, because I adore the Japanese Garden and think it's gorgeous year round.  But there is something really special about this time of year.  Jonathan and I spent a lovely morning taking pictures and walking around.  For quite a while we practically had the place to ourselves!  Eventually some preschool groups arrived and the solace was a bit disturbed, but it was still perfectly lovely.  I highly, highly recommend a trip to the Garden very soon!!

Jonathan would like to point out that he had the most comfortable way to tour the Garden and still stay warm on a chilly spring morning.

All pics below are specifically from the Japanese Garden area of the Garden.
